WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates, a German-born physical trainer. During World War I, Joseph Pilates used his method to help injured soldiers recover, and he later refined his techniques to aid rehabilitation and improve overall health. Today, Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and body awareness through controlled movements. It emphasises core stability, posture, and breath control, promoting overall balance and alignment of the body.
At The Clinic Quairading, we offer a combination of both Reformer and mat Pilates, which can be tailored to suit individuals of all ages and abilities. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply looking to improve strength and flexibility, Pilates exercises can be adjusted to meet your specific needs. The Reformer’s adjustable resistance and customisable settings make it particularly effective in accommodating different fitness levels and goals.
